Welcome to Suffolk Fresh Limited

Suffolk Fresh Limited’s Blakenham nursery at Bramford in Suffolk is the first semi closed hydroponic glasshouse in the UK and is the size of 11 football pitches – 8.4 hectares.

Suffolk Fresh Ltd, is preparing the glasshouse for new tomato plants to be planted in January 2024.

We will produce around 3.5 million kilos of tomatoes during 2024 with a focus on quality and environmental processes, using cutting-edge technology to create the best growing conditions to produce tasty tomatoes.

Hydroponics is a subset of hydroculture, which is a method of growing plants without soil using mineral nutrient solutions as a water solvent in a neutral growing media.

When fully developed, the re-establishment of this major project will help bring more than 70 new, local jobs to the area and provide locally grown tomatoes for the UK market all year round.
