Welcome to Suffolk Fresh Limited
Suffolk Fresh Limited’s Blakenham nursery at Bramford in Suffolk is the first semi closed hydroponic glasshouse in the UK and is the size of 11 football pitches – 8.4 hectares.
After a highly successful first year, Suffolk Fresh Ltd is in full production again with plans to pick and pack more than 4.5 million kilos of tomatoes in 2025.
We will produce around 4.5 million kilos of tomatoes during 2025, up on last year by more than a million, with a focus on quality and environmental processes, using cutting-edge technologies to create the best growing conditions to produce tasty tomatoes.
Hydroponics is a subset of hydroculture, which is a method of growing plants without soil using mineral nutrient solutions as a water solvent in a neutral growing media.
Now fully developed, the re-establishment of this modern nursery has brought more than 70 new jobs to the area and provides locally grown tomatoes for the UK market all year round.
